The new act-essay demands that the last case has premiered, yet the students with the top scoring students give a run for their money. The reason is because the act now asks the students to do a much more in their essay responses. So let's tear it up.
The request for ACT recording consists of three main parts:
1. Introducing background information to a problem in question
2. Three different perspectives on this reduced problem
3. The attachment task
The example request on the website on the website (which I propose you urgently is from the presence of intelligent machines in our world. The essay begins with some general thoughts and examples (the robots that now cars on assembly lines Build, which once attached by people who are fastened to automated checkout counters in grocery) and ends with some rhetorical issues where they are considered.
This introduction should ensure that you both understand what the perspectives talk about which the perspectives speak and flow their creative juices to write, so make sure they read it. You can feel free to use information that you see here as a starting starting point for an introduction or as supportive points in your essay.
After this introductory piece you will see the three perspectives. Three (unlike two) is interesting because they will not deal with only one side, which is clearly "for the topic" and one that is "against". Instead, you will find two on one side and one on the other side. You will probably find that at least one of the perspectives, if not all, is more nuancing. Perhaps there is another justification that the validity of the problem is discussed, or maybe "approved" of the problem only under certain circumstances. The variety provided by three perspectives makes your task a bit harder than an essay in which you will be asked to just argue for or against a problem.
As you can probably say, these first two parts changes with each act. The third part, the attachment task, will be the same for each test, which is why you should know it from the heart. Here it is:
Write a uniform, coherent attachment in which you rate multiple perspectives to [controversial topic here]. Safe in your attachment:
• Analyze and evaluate the perspectives
• Condition and develop your own perspective on the topic
• Explain the relationship between your perspective and the option if necessary
Your view can be fully with one of the other, partial agreement or quite different. Whatever the case, you support your ideas with logical argumentation and detailed, convincing examples.
See section "The essay" below for my thoughts how to effectively address this command prompt.
The time limit
You have 40 minutes to write the ACT attachment. It is not a ton of time, but honestly, you probably do not want the act no more time after several hours of multiple choice questions. You are probably ready to get out there before it even starts. The good news is that the law is really not spectacular with such a short time limit. Only a short, short attachment with some examples. You can peel off.
Although this is not much written, I suggest that you spend and outline a full minutes before the start of the start. This time will be paid in an essay, which is far more organized and more convincing than a wandering list of your thoughts when you occur.
the essayThree tasks for achieving: analyzing the specified perspectives that develop yourself and require the relationship between yours and the given explanations, you need a plan. The action carriers seem to be the most interested, which they make their own argument, so I suggest you start here: Finish a short introductory sales with a thesis statement that gives your perspective in the specification. Then they dedicate to each of the three perspectives a body heel, and ended with which they agree. If you decide to argue for a perspective, which differs from the given people, you may need a fourth body heel. Finally, write if you have time to write a short conclusion (two or so sentences is fine), which wrapped everything.
This is not the only way to structure a winning ACT essay, but it definitely ensures that you do everything the request you ask.
Your essay is achieved by two graders, which grants between 1-6 points on four different dimensions: ideas and analysis, development and support, organization and voice use. This means that you are on each of these dimensions with a total of 2-12 points end up. Your rotting note will then be converted from 1-36 points to a scaled score, similar to how the multiple-choice sections are achieved.
During the Sat-Essay more focused on Analytical , the ACT attachment sets more emphasis on argumentative writing . It's a bit of another skill set and you can look suitable for one over the other. This does not mean that they are planning which test should take part based on the optional essay, but it could be a consideration in their total decision. In any case, the best way is to write these specific types of essays to write these specific specifications of essays. So go with the instructions on the college board and act websites.
