From September 2017, there will no longer be different courses offered by the exam cards for DT. All individual DT-GCSE voluntands were combined in 2 specifications.
The new NNCFE Level 2-Creative Craft will be delivered in 2019 for the first lessons. KS4 starts at the beginning of the year 9 and closes in year 11. There are two options only for the new DT specifications:
1. GCSE design technology. Specification code 8552
2. NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Creative Studies: Crafts (601/0043/6

• The specification combines theoretical content with practical application
• There is a stronger emphasis on the design.
• The use of mathematical capabilities is an important requirement and is tested in the

• The acquisition of practical capabilities is still expected.
